Throwback Thursday: Bill Hicks’ banned Letterman set
Taped on 10/1/93, a few months before Hicks’ death from pancreatic cancer, this routine was cut from The Late Show with David Letterman having been deemed too controversial. In ‘09, Bill’s mother Mary appeared on the show to remember her son’s life/career with Dave, receive an apology from him for deciding to cut the bit, and finally air the segment.
